Best time to take ZMA?

Ive read, and people at the health store i bought it from have told me that the best time is at night , on a empty stomach, with no calcium. But usually before i go to bed, i eat toast with peanut butter, and have milk and whey protein. So my Question is if i wait like a hour after eating my snack, would taking ZMA work to its full potential, or will the calcium block it out?
